This Weekend's Message: Strangers in a Strange Land

Many of us like to go camping, but very few of us would enjoy living in a tent full-time. Even though the adventure of camping has its good moments, we often long to return to our long-term homes. We want to be somewhere that is familiar and safe and comfortable. Home is close to the heart.

What if you found out that you would need to live in a tent for an extended amount of time? What if you were unable to settle in and set down roots, but instead needed to live in a temporary home? It would be tough. You would probably need a really good reason...and a really good payoff.

  1. Pastor Dan,
As a Foster Care advocate, my first thought was the 450,000 kids in the United States that live in temporary homes, most of them through no fault of their own
who are placed in foster care and who NEED a safe place to live and some place to call HOME.

The statistics are staggering....every 36 seconds, a child is taken from their home (mother, father, siblings, bedroom, toys, clothes, yard, friends) and placed with total strangers!! Who better to provide a Temporary Home than a Christian who can Plant the Seed of the Love of Christ than a CHRISTian???

Who better can Plant the Seed of the NEED than YOU, a man of God from the Pulpit?? Romans 10:14 (how can they hear unless someone preaches to them?)

Thank you for planting the seed of the (upcoming) ministry at LBF...Embrace Adoption and Foster Care!!

    God Bless, Isabel (909) 418-4640

  2. I forgot to include our ministry verse... Matthew 25:35:

"I was a STRANGER and you took me in."

    EMbrace AFC (adoption/foster care)
