Reflections: March 22-23, 2008

This week's "Reflection" by Jeff Taylor, Pastor of Teaching/Youth
What an exciting truth that the God of the universe, the creator of Heaven and Earth, knows who we are, what we need, and that we can't earn His love and forgiveness so He did something about it. Jesus' death and resurrection offers us the opportunity for real life, with a very real and personal God.

This weekend people in each of the services (between 3 and 7 each service) committed their lives to Christ. What an exciting thing to see people allowing God to touch their souls and give their lives to Him! Along with those people, many others made the choice to allow God to come and bring freedom to their relationship with him by removing the performance aspect of their faith. God's love and forgiveness is something that He offers us freely, and what a joy it was to see people desire to embrace that freedom and look forward to a life of understanding the love God has for them.

Praise God for what He is doing in the lives of people here. Please join us in praying for those who made commitments to God this weekend – that He would reveal Himself daily and they would reach out to others with the good news of the salvation of Christ that has been offered to us all.

  1. TO: Jeff, Gary and Matt, Thank you so much for blessing all of us with the beautiful messages, of Jesus, that lead to Easter Day. Each message was so personal and made me come away, each time, feeling so loved by Jesus and realizing how much He gave for each of us because He wanted to. I heard many others comment this same feeling. Thank you for this gift to us and Praise God for the lives committed to Christ this weekend.

  2. I was truly moved by this service. I have enjoyed all of the services that I have attended, but this one in particular spoke to me deeply. I was one of the people you noted above that committed thier lives to Christ (Saturday night). Having Jesus in my life is something very new to me. I want to also thank everyone at LBF Church for making me feel so welcome.

  3. To Betty: Jeff and I want to be involved in teaching that brings about life change. We believe that followers of Jesus are in a constant state of learning and growing. Thanks for your kind words. It is a joy to be part of this "body" of believers called LBF.

To Scott: Scott it was a pleasure meeting you this past Wednesday at the Men's Bible Study. You've just made the most significant decision a person can make. Putting your faith in Jesus will not only bring you the hope of eternity, but it will also be a source of hope for everyday of your life now as you grow and learn along with the rest of us what it means to be a follower of Jesus, God Bless you.
