Reflections: June 2-3, 2007

The tabernacle of the Old Testament is a great reminder to us that God is eager and willing to dwell with His people. As we go through our lives today in the 21st century, God continues to dwell with us and we are called as believers to be living sacrifices who glorify God and bless others.

Let's be intentional this week to look for ways that we can sacrifice our time, resources, and lives to God and others as this can be our spiritual act of worship.

Click the link below to tell your story of a way that God was able to use you as you sacrificed yourself for His glory so that we can all be encouraged to do the same.

God bless,
Pastor Jeff

  1. The coolest thing just happened! My 12 year old step-son just came into my room, sat down on the floor, and started reading Matthew Ch.6-9 OUT LOUD to me. This was WAY out of the ordinary. My stepson has many talents, but reading has been a struggle for him throughout school. The words "book report" have been synonymous with the word "torture" for him. Well, something changed when someone got on the campus of his public middle school a few weeks ago and passed out pocket-size bibles to anyone who wanted one. My step-son got one, and just took it upon himself to start reading the new testament--with no prompting from anyone. When he came into my room and started reading to me, I was really caught off-guard and wasn't sure what to do. But I remebered Pastor Jeff's sermon and challenge for the week, and siezed the opportunity to fellowship with my step-son. When he asked me questions about the passages, God came with the answers and used my mouth to speak. With God speaking through me I was able to explain things in terms he could understand. I am so greatful for this experience. I believe God used me as a vessel to minister to this young man, because I never could have done it on my own. Praise GOD! And my stepson is so proud to be on chapter 9 already! May he keep his enthusiasm for the rest of the book and pass on his knowledge to others.

  2. I had the privilege of visiting a couple who lost their granddaughter in a tragic boating accident a year ago. It was an opportunity to share God's love with a hurting couple and listen to their hearts. It was a blessing for me to be there as they just wanted to talk about their precious granddaughter and reflect on their year without her.
I love it that when we take time to encourage others, God blesses us - and them too.

  3. This happened actually last Friday. But it would pertain to what we have been asked to do this week. Being in outside technical sales and on the road a lot, I had a voice mail from a Principal vendor. I called in to speak with a particular individual but, first the switch board operator came on the line. She said, "Hi Ray, how have you been doing?" I responded "Just Fine". She asked how was my weekend etc. , I hesitated at first, then said well I went to church. She exclaimed "oh you go to church?" I said yes and she got all excited to tell me she had just started reading the Bible. I about fell over. Grace is her name and kept talkng and next thing I knew 3-5 min had passed and all of a sudden she says Oh My Gosh I put everyone on hold all this time and had to go. Then I was transfered to my party. When I hung up I thought how great it was to tell Grace about going to LBF , and how my wife and I have been attending a Home Study group and that we were doing it on a Book Named "True Faced" and how it had effected me and how my mask was coming off and no longer was "Just Being Fine", but going into the Room of Grace and trusting God.

  4. This week, even though it was the last week of school, I decided to approach the school principal about the music being played at the Jr. high school dances. I asked if there was anyone that restricted certain song and such as content? He said that they kind of played what was popular. I took that opportunity to share my faith and let him know that my 13 year old was offended by some of the music and that I bet there were more kids like her also. I asked if he would look into the school maybe having a Christian D.J come in for a dance next year and if we could start a club an campus. He was very open to it! Now just keep the school board open to it! I steep out daily with the customers I talk to, but it felt good to step out on behalf of my children. Pray for what God will now do with this.
